Welcome to the Social Psychology Research Group!

Welcome to the website of the Social Psychology Research Group at the Department of Psychology, Boğaziçi University.

We strive to generate high-quality empirical research on topics such as:

  • political psychology (e.g., psychological bases of political attitudes)
  • person perception (e.g., face perception, spontaneous trait inferences);
  • Turkish culture and cross-cultural comparisons, especially in terms self, honor, and cognitive styles;
  • stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination vis-a-vis various social categories;

and various others. We study these topics using a variety of methods; such as computer-based measures that we collect in our lab; naturalistic observations; paper-and-pencil and online surveys.

You can find more information about members of the research group on their individual webpages.
